Here is an excellent 1972 Mark VI tenor, ready for a serious player to take it over. Someone really played this instrument over the years and it came to us needing a full overhaul. It now boasts excellent action, the keywork is quiet and feels great, and the high-quality Music Medic pads with Maestro Airtight Brass Resonators increase the inside surface area of the horn for superb resonance.
This saxophone lacked most of it's finish when we received it thus, the horn went through the standard process to remove the remaining nitrocellulose lacquer. After completely removed, the horn received a coat of renaissance wax to add a layer of protection which, will help the horn patina in a beautiful and even way that will prove unique to whomever plays this saxophone.
The keywork on this horn was set up using high quality felt and tech cork in order ensure the utmost quick, quiet, and smooth feeling action possible. All of the keywork was properly aligned, fitted, and regulated so that there is no play in any of the keys. The tone holes were also checked for levelness and leveled accordingly.
There are some dings on the lower end of the instrument that I took note of in both the photos and video. The neck also has two spots underneath where someone had a brace soldered on however, the neck shows no signs of pull down as stated in the video. On the top of the neck there was a small ding with an extremely tiny leak that was patched. A nice coat of silver plate would do this neck well and cost less than a replacement neck: however, I decided to leave it unplated for the new owner to decide what they want. The engraving is in good shape except for the end of "Paris" shown in the pictures and video.
