About

From the Owner (James Stup)

I created JCS Winds to help people have a trustworthy place to go for quality instruments, accessories, and repairs. In its current state, I am the only person behind the scenes running JCS Winds. I mostly offer quality pre-owned and vintage saxophones for sale.

My experience repairing saxophones goes back to my early days of learning how to play the instrument. From the beginning I always found interest in repairing all types of things but, the saxophone absolutely fascinated me the most. I began by learning how to perform basic tasks taught to me by my instructors whom all worked as repairmen in music stores at points in their life. Eventually I purchased old Pan American saxophones and learning how to repair on them to get the hands on part of learning. From there I sought out further information regarding saxophone repair by watching classes, learning from other repairmen, visiting facilities like Music Medic, and reading. When I turned 18, I started repairing other saxophonists' instruments for the first time while attending the University of North Florida's Jazz Performance program in 2015-2016. Since then, I've repaired many instruments for students, teachers, pros, and schools.

My mission remains to grow JCS Winds into an opportunity for musicians, repairman, and music educators to collaborate and enhance our music community.

JCS Winds is a trademarked brand under USPTO.
